On January 15, 2009, US Airways Flight 1549, an Airbus A320 departing from New York City's LaGuardia Airport, was en route to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Engine failure
Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft lost both engines due to a bird strike. The safety of the 150 passengers depended on precise procedures and reliable evacuation equipment.

Safe landing
The pilot skillfully landed the aircraft on the Hudson River, allowing passengers to safely use escape slides and rafts manufactured using engineered coated fabrics from Trelleborg.

On display
As a commemoration the Miracle on the Hudson is now on display at the Sullenberger Aviation Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina.
